I'm thinking about starting up a Zune users group in Portland, Oregon. I've even got a promise of a place to meet and snacks (and do I dare say it … SCHWAG) from the boys from Redmond.

Do I have any takers?

The other option is for a quick Zune User Group meet at the Podcast and New Media Expo in September. Any takers there?

The next generation Zune … It is not a question of if, it is a question of when and more importantly … what.

We have a supposed confirmation of Zune 2.0 from Blorge.com.

One nugget …

It appears that Microsoft will expand the Zune family with new styles, sizes, and price points. Future Zune products will feature podcasting support and expanded video support. The Zune will also move into other geographic markets when Microsoft feels it has an appealing product to offer those demographics.

We have not confirmed any new devices or features. We have, for several months, been saying that we intend to develop the Zune business along three axes - expanding our device offering, adding new features and scenarios and considering new international markets when the time is right. We remain focused on that path, but have not made any official announcements regarding timing or features of new Zune devices.

So we have nothing official but … come on … do you really think they're not going to include Podcasting at some point?

We're going to be making lots of changes around here. You're going to luv what we're going to do to help you and your Zune.

The idea here is to move away from Zune's branding and start focusing in on our own. We had the graphics team do some work and we've got to early stagers that I'd love run by you.
