Microsoft have outdone themselves by producing Zune Originals. According to Microsoft, these: "allow you to custom-build your Zune with laser-engraved exclusive artwork" 

Now the artwork is pretty varied - no doubt to cater for all taste. But it is artwork! In fact some 18 well known artists from around the globe were invited to submit their work for inclusion in the "tattoo" series.

Microsoft has the original designs on show (they called them Zune originalsl) but to our mind, the presentation just does not do the artwork or the artists justice. Consider the above images as displayed on the Zune site..

Microsoft has gone all out on this venture and whilst it may be an expense that most of us will not want to incur, we can still get excited by the process of inviting artists to create art for everyday use - and the results! 

At the risk of being accused of going overboard on this topic, I am going to include one last image - just because it shows the joining of art and commerce so vividly!!
