More Free Music For Zune!

Want some more great free music? This time its not just a free trial (still, we reckon 25 free songs was worth getting!). But, with a small amount of time and by following our tutorial, you can begin downloading a whole stack of great music.

Ritmo Latinospacer1.jpgYou can listen to this sample to get you motivated (yep, its an hour of great music - for free! - it takes a few secs to load, so be patient - its well worth it!)

Now, this may not be the kind of music that rocks your world (we got hooked after we covered the Latin Grammys last November) - but you can check out Wizzard to see if they have the music you like. If they do, you are going to have to come back here to find out how to get it onto your Zune (unless you are happy using iTunes - which we like to avoid)

But, before we go through that tutorial, we would like to show you how to find more Wizzard music than you can find from the above link. Just go to your Google browser and click the “advanced search” option. Then type Music into “all these words” and the wizzard.tv into “Search within a site or domain”. Then click the advanced search button. You now have over 400 results to look through - much more than is listed for “This month’s top music shows”!

OK - how to get this great music onto our Zune? Well, you can do it by using Juice! Its a great little tool that lets us download music onto our PC - and from there its an easy matter to load to our Zune. How to get Juice and download music to it is well explained elsewhere. You can get the URL feed for Ritmo Latino from here. Once you have downloaded the music you can find it in “my Received podcasts”:

Now all you have to do to is right click the file and select “Play with Zune”. (this will open the Zune player. You can then load the music to your Zune)

Free Music for Zune -Who wants some?

Reggaeton Fiesta Latina Karaoke

To my way of thinking, its good to check out alternatives to our current set-up - just to keep up with what else is out there. Its easy to get stuck in a rut and just keep doing the same old same old. So when we stumbled on this great promo we were pretty pleased with ourselves.

What we found is a top-ranked music store that is willing to give away 25 FREE Downloads - No Restrictions - plus we get to KEEP the songs - just for giving them a trial!

We checked them out and found that, according to the Rolling Stones:

Hardcore music fans are migrating to eMusic, the iTunes Music Store’s cheaper, cooler cousin.

So that gives us an idea of how good this set-up is - as iTunes is probably the most widely used music store regardless of the type of music player we have. Featured above is a hot Latina album recently released (December 2008) - and available through eMusic! (That’s how we found this promo - we were looking for some great, recently released, Latina music!) And found this hot offer to go with it: -FREE Music for our Zunes!

free zune musicDownload 25 FREE songs at eMusic.com!

free zune music

According to their blurb, their setup:

WORKS WITH THE iPOD®, ZUNE®, OR ANY MP3 PLAYER / CHOOSE FROM OVER 3.5 MILLION SONGS / SONGS AS LOW AS 30¢ AFTER FREE TRIAL

Well, it does work with Zune - we got our 25 songs and figured we would share our good find with our readers. So - go for it - Download FREE Music for your Zune!

The latest Consumer Electronic Show has little to excite Zune owners

With the annual CES on the horizon, rumors bounced around the internet - with predictions as far fetched as the Zune phone finally being unveiled to the hopeful? claim that Microsoft:

will extend Zune services not only to Windows Mobile but to its Xbox 360 video game console, too

But, no deal - nada!

The only announcement of possible interest is the new Kodu software. Given the way Zune is marketed, it seems that Microsoft has worked out that the typical Zune buyer is both creative and adventurous. Which means that the new Kodu software unveiled on the 7th Jan may well be of interest.

Not just because it looks like fun and has been developed so that even a 12 year old can use it (see video below), but because we can design and build our own games and via the XNA software, play them on our zune. The software was demoed at the event:

We will be posting a tutorial on how to build a game for Zune - so bookmark this post if you want to see how easy this software is to work with. If you beat us to it, and build a game you would like to share - just send us the link in the comments section!

If You’re 30gb Zune Crashed… Don’t Worry, Here’s Why:

Is your iPod frozen?? Well don’t despair, it may be because you connected your player to a computer frozen iPodbefore noon GMT on January 1, 2009!

At the end of 2008 all 30 GB Microsoft Zune’s crashed thanks to a software fault related to the calendar.

However Microsoft was quick to respond to the problem, and according to their Spokesman Mark Eskridge all is now fine if you download the software bug fix:

“It worked for me and it seems like it’s working for customers,” Mr Eskridge told the AP newswire. “From the limited time I’ve looked on the forums, it seems customers have had good success with it.”

The glitch only affected the 30 GB Zune players which were released in early 2006 - all other Zune players remain unaffected. You can get more details here!

Zune fans will be relieved to know that Microsoft has assured everyone that they will prevent future software glitches - and the date oversight was a result of focusing on providing a superior quality player - not simply a good looking player like other companies out there ;) wink wink.
