Earlier this year we did a post showing how to download music from iTunes to Zune. In the example we introduced you to Soundclick. But we really did not focus on the site as we were really just using it to demo downloading-to-iTunes-to-Zune.
But as this is an awesome site with over 400,000 free songs on offer for us to download legally to our Zune, its time to tell you more about it. For example, here is a sample of an MP3 that’s free to download to your Zune (artist is Elemento Latino):
The reason music is free onSoundclick is that it is released under “creative commons” license. Creative commons is a form of license that allows musicians to release their music for sharing for free. According to Soundclick:
it’s absolutely legal to download any song which is downloadable
In other words, if you can download the music for for free, that means it is being released under creative commons for your free use. Musicians do also sell their music on Soundclick. So you need to be able to navigate to the page where you are able to select the free music released under creative commons (not the music released under commercial license which you will have to pay for):

In the example shown, you can see that there are over 68,000 free Hip Hop Mp3’s on offer under creative commons license. This is one of the largest categories, but there is also, for example, 2,792 free Latin music MP3s on offer and 34,693 free Rock MP3s - all for for downloading for free to our Zunes and so on. Check it out. There is some truly awesome music on offer.
